TRIVIA!
-Dusk 'Till Dawn was the second track written during the production of "Freakshow." The name is derived from a conversation between Shaun Roland and his best friend, Spencer Pellant. Shaun was looking for a driven hook line, and Spencer rattled off "Give you what you want from dusk till fucking dawn...". The line stuck, and formed the basis of the song.
-The working song title was "From Dusk Until Death", which was rejected in favor of the opportunity to make a Quentin Tarantino reference.
-The original key of the song was a full step higher. During recording, Shaun Roland passed out while screaming during the chorus, at which point it was decided that such a high key may be problematic during live shows. The audio recorded while Shaun began to pass out is present as background noise in the demo version.
lyrics
Cage in your heart, and I'm locked inside,
Burning alive
Swore that I'd never say goodbye,
As we collide
Whispers of old ghosts swim in my memories,
But you've got nothing to do with that...do you?
Give you what you want, give you what you want,
Give you what you want from dusk till dawn
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, I fade away, I fade away,
I fade away and then I'm gone
All of the colors start to fade,
Don't be afraid
I am an addict, my drug's the pain
Yours is the hate
Lately I've been thinking about you and me
But you don't really care about that, do you, do you,
Do you?
Give you what you want, give you what you want,
Give you what you want from dusk till dawn
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
Oh, I fade away, I fade away, I fade away
And then I'm gone
Give you what you want, give you what you want,
Give you what you want from dusk till dawn
I fade away, I fade away, I fade away
And then I'm gone
Give you what you want, give you what you want,
Give you what you want from dusk till dawn
I fade away, I fade away, I fade away
And then I'm gone
